A research database is basically a place on the computer that houses all sorts of information for people to use. Most of the information in research databases comes from print sources first. You might, consider it an online library.
Using a database can be very helpful when doing research because it can hold many pieces of good information and your search is narrowed more than if you were just using the open internet.
